Perspectives Course Zoom Info Session

Zoom Info Session, January 21st @ 7:00PM

Classes begin Tuesday, January 27th @ 6:00PM

Perspectives is a fifteen-lesson discipleship course exploring different aspects of God’s global purpose in a multi-faceted learning experience. The course examines the story of God fulfilling His promises from four vantage points or “perspectives” — Biblical, Historical, Cultural, and Strategic. The Biblical and Historical sections establish the foundation of our confidence in the historic fact of God’s persistent work to make His name known to the nations from the dawn of history until today. The Cultural and Strategic sections highlight that we are in the midst of a costly but very “do-able” task. These sections confirm the Biblical and Historical hope we have with the invitation to co-labor with God in His mission.

To learn more please sign up for the zoom info session or email eliseknepler@gmail.com

Classes begin on Tuesday, January 27th at 6:00PM.  They will be held at Moshava Coffee (West Village.)

Housing Justice in LIC

The OneLIC Neighborhood Plan is a rezoning proposal that will reshape Long Island City with over 14,000 new housing units. But only a fraction of these units are truly affordable — and many are priced far beyond what working-class families, seniors, and vulnerable neighbors can afford.

In our Know Our Neighbor Survey, the majority of our church identified housing affordability as one of the most important issues to fight for. This is our opportunity to use our collective voice to speak to a major housing issue impacting our community. For further information you can read read my letter.

As a church committed to justice, we are responding by:

  • Signing a community letter to Council Member Julie Won after service

  • Attending the City Council hearing on Wednesday, September 17 to speak out [Sign up here]

  • Attend one of two info sessions for anyone with further questions or interested in speaking at the hearing:

Let’s stand together in faith and action — for our neighbors, for justice, and for a city where everyone has a place to call home.
