Baptism Sunday

During our 11:45 Sunday service on Sunday, November 17, we will share in the joy of seeing  members of our community get baptized!  We hope you can join us on this celebratory Sunday as we hear testimonies and witness this significant moment in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ.  As we rejoice together, we remember what an amazingly good God we serve, and how grateful we are for the new life Jesus has given us through his death and resurrection -- Praise God!  Come celebrate with us, and affirm and encourage those getting baptized!

Hope Astoria Open Forum

Part 2 “Faith and the Ballot Box: Continuing the Conversation”

Following our insightful discussion in June, we invite you to join us for the second part of our open forum on November 3rd after the second service. This session will build on our previous conversation about the intersection of faith and civic duty, focusing on the practical steps we can take as Christians during this election season. Together, we’ll delve into:

Practical Engagement of the P.E.A.C.E. ethics we discussed in Part 1: How can we actively participate in the political process while upholding our Christian values?

Q & A Discussion coupled with collective prayer for peace, unity, and hope for our community and nation.

Whether you attended the first forum or are joining us for the first time, this event is an opportunity to deepen your understanding, share your experiences, and support one another as we navigate the election season. Let’s continue to approach this time with wisdom, unity, and a commitment to loving our neighbors as ourselves.

All inquiries and questions email donal@hopeastoria.org

Note: You can send questions in advance for the Q & A segment to hopejustice@hopeastoria.org

Hope Astoria Open Forum

“Faith and the Ballot Box: A Christian’s Responsibility in a Presidential Election”

As followers of Christ, we are called to engage with the world around us, including the political sphere. Join us on June 30th after 2nd service for an open forum where we’ll explore the intersection of faith and civic duty during a presidential election. Together, we’ll discuss:

Biblical Ethics: What ethics can we draw from God's Word that can help us navigate the hostile climate and maintain the peace of God for ourselves and our neighbors?

Biblical Perspectives: What does Scripture say about our role as citizens and our responsibility to participate in the democratic process?
Unity Amid Differences: How can we maintain unity within our diverse congregation, even when political opinions vary?
Whether you’re a seasoned voter or a first-time participant, this forum is an opportunity to learn, share, and grow together. Let’s navigate the complexities of the election season with grace, humility, and a commitment to love our neighbors as ourselves.
